SVARTPILEN 250 : Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, A Swedish~Austrian commuter motorcycle which is available in 1 variant in India. Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 creates 29.2bhp of horsepower at 9000RPM and 24Nm of peak torque. The single cylinder engine of Svartpilen 250 has gearbox of 6 speed manual transmission. With both rear and front disk brakes, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 also has an ABS system.

The Svartpilen 250 is a quarter-litre, scrambler-inspired motorcycle which shares its underpinnings and engine with the KTM Duke250. And honestly it’s almost KTM Duke 250 with a different looks and design.

The Svartpilen is the combination of a retro scrambler and a modern street bike in terms of it’s design. It gets a round-shaped headlamp which is a full-LED. Sitting on top of it is a single-pod digital instrument cluster which shows ample of information. The angular fuel tank stretches up to under the rider’s seat and blends with a high-set, and the stubbly tail section integrating compact LED tail lamp.As a scrambler it gets a tall handlebar with brace, metal cladding on the fuel tank and rugged-pattern tubeless dual purpose tyres.

And if we talk about the other body parts, then most of the components such as engine, frame, suspension and brakes are the same as the 250 Duke. It is 248.76cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine clings on to a steel trellis frame. Damping duties are handled by upside down forks and a monoshock, both sourced from WP. The braking systems are 320mm disc at front and 230mm disc at rear, both accompanied by ByBre (By Brembo) calipers. Dual-channel ABS comes as a standard attachment.

Now if we talk about their cons, then the overall body proportions are quite compact. Also it’s price is quite high. And finally the for the rider, the the seat is well spacious and comfortable, but since it’s a Scrambler inspired motorcycle, there is a lack of space for the pillion.

Though it has low clip-on handlebar and rear set footpegs for a forward-leaning riding stanced and absence of metal cladding on the fuel tank.
